In 2023, she was an Omidyar Reporter in Residence, and in 2021 her work at The Information was nominated for a SABEW Award. She lives in Los Angeles with her partner and their pet snake, Dr. Mantis Tobaggan, and co-hosts a fiction workshop in Los Feliz.
